Vetsure for Kids Pet Packs

At Vetsure, we have introduced our wonderful Vetsure for Kids Pet Packs, created by Amey Montgomery who is one of our brilliant Claims Assessors. Amey is an experienced Veterinary Nurse and is a mother herself, so she really understands the family and pet dynamic.

According to a recent Mintel report on Pet Insurance in the UK in 2022, families with young children are one of the largest demographic groups that are welcoming pets into their homes. It can be an utter joy for children to grow up with a pet by their side, but as you know, it is very common for pets to become unwell and many of them will eventually end up needing treatment. This is something that can be very difficult to rationalise to children as they may not understand the complexities of illnesses at their young age.

Through our Vetsure for Kids Pet Packs, we aim to help young children and families get to grips with some of the more difficult issues when it comes to owning a pet. They provide parents with an insight into how to tackle these difficult subjects, how to reassure their children and even suggest what their children can do to help. These include topics such as common diseases, like diabetes and epilepsy, providing a simple and child-friendly way of explaining these conditions in a sensitive and less scary way! The packs also touch on pet rehoming, introducing a new puppy or kitten to the family, and one of the hardest topics when owning a pet, pet loss.

So far, we have had a number of vets hand out these packs in their practices to help families understand their pet’s new needs. The feedback we have received has been so positive, not only from the vets but from the practice customers themselves! The packs can be printed out or downloaded as digital PDFs, and they are all completely free of charge. So, why not have them available in your practice?
