Veterinary Surgeon (small animal vet) £38,000 – £70,000 per annum (FT 38hrs) DOE Small animal vet required for our Independent practice in Llandudno north Wales. We are looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon who can help us continue our high standard of patient and client care, while being supported to develop their interests and achieve a healthy and fulfilling work/life balance. We are stone’s throw away from the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and within easy reach to Chester, Liverpool and Manchester. We are open to a variety of candidates:

1) Part time vet position on our Vets in a Van covering Criccieth and surroundings area

2) Full time vet position with possibility of partnership in future Our dream vet has the following qualities… 1. A love of small animals with a calm and gentle manner and handling. We are very happy to support and develop the right candidate. We currently have a highly equipped practice with the following equipment, laparoscopic equipment, dental x-ray, new digital x-ray and ultrasound, idexx catalyst, proccyte and sedivue machine. Multi parameter general anaesthetic machines separate cat and dog wards, large consultation rooms. 2. The ability to be organised and efficient, helping our small business flourish and grow Do you love it when your practice runs like a well-oiled machine? Are you always looking for ways to improve? 3) Excellent client communication skills and attention to detail. We love being a valued part of the local community and want everyone to feel welcome. It’s important that our whole team works hard to give clients and pets a great experience, from the moment they first learn about us to the moment they tell all of their friends how great we are! (That being said, we would never allow you to be disrespected by any client and we will support you in difficult situations.)

4. An interest in teaching and mentoring. We are pleased to have a lot of EMS bookings and love teaching vet students. We are looking into future partnerships with new vet schools and are keen to maintain an environment where the whole team supports each other and visiting students in developing their skills. What can we offer you?

We have created a really lovely working environment where our team are fulfilled and supported, we have 3 experienced RVNs and a team of experienced ACAs, as well as a team of 4 reception, we are all team players. We’ve designed our practice to take into account both the needs of small animals (with fantastic equipment and facilities) but also to make a beautiful space where our clients and staff feel relaxed and comfortable.

We like CPD, we want to keep up to date and are always looking for ways to improve. We will support you to develop your interests and encourage you to become the vet you want to be. We are a small family run business. Which means no corporate targets and the ability to have a great working relationship with the owner rather than tiers of middle management and bureaucracy. If you think we should be doing something differently, we’re all ears! We really appreciate our team’s input and ideas and don’t want any barriers to getting things done well. We want the whole team to have a good work-life balance and a sensible rota.

Full time employees typically work 8.00am-5.00pm 0r 10.00pm-19:00pm 4 days a week, with 1 full weekday off and no OOH work. The day runs in shifts with plenty of breaks. our consults are a standard of 20 minutes but we allow longer for complex cases/bloods/exotics/PTS. The practice closes at 7pm with last appointments at 6.20pm. We want you to be able to get out of the door by 7.00pm – working late should be the exception not the rule. We work one weekend in four on a Saturday we are closed on Sundays and the hours are 8:00-12:00, just four hours in case of emergencies. Part time or flexible hours requests are welcome. We’re growing and we can grow to fit you.

We also have a range of visiting specialists to our practice including orthopaedic, soft tissue and cardiology. We also have a soft tissue certificate holder within the practice.
