Priory Veterinary Surgeons Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – well supported new graduate opportunity, in Reigate Surrey

Start date flexible – from July 2022 onwards – a 12 month post. Salary £34,000 plus benefits.

Brief Description: Our new graduate programme has been running for seven years and all new graduates have been very positive about it, with the last two staying to take permanent positions here. We provide a friendly and supportive independent practice environment for enthusiastic and ambitious new graduates who are not afraid of hard work or taking responsibility, and having fun at the same time!

You will be given an induction period shadowing our 10 vets, and have the back up of 10 registered nurses, for as long as it takes for you to be ready, to follow this with a gradual introduction into taking full control of your consulting, medical and surgical cases as the year progresses. This includes being part of the emergency cover eventually [1 in 6 weekends , with back-up]. You will not just be running around after other people. The aims are to have completed your first year competencies within the year and to have also completed all of the procedures described in the BSAVA Guide to Procedures in Small Animal Practice. We are very well equipped: See www.prioryvets.co.uk You will be mentored weekly by one of our two vet GDP advisors, and you will have allocated time for shadowing any of our 6 Certificate holders throughout the year, as well as dedicated learning time. This post will reward you with a fund of invaluable clinical skill and experience. There may well be an opportunity to take a permanent post in the practice, after successful completion.
